| Una lettera da firmare subito! (andrà consegnata l'8 marzo). Negli Stati Uniti l'Equality Act, già passato alla Camera dei Rappresentanti, sta per essere approvato al Senato. Come Feminist Post vi ha più volte raccontato, l'Equality Act, fortemente voluto dall'amministrazione Biden, sostituisce di fatto il concetto di "sesso" con quello di "identità di genere", cancellando donne, ragazze e bambine e rendendo l'essere donna una "scelta" a disposizione degli uomini. Declaration on Women's Sex-Based Rights, che conta una rete di 15 mila aderenti in tutto il mondo -e di cui RadFem Italia è referente italiana- rivolge una lettera-appello a Charles Schumer, U.S. Senate Majority Leader, segnalando che l'Equality Act così come è configurato, se approvato costituirebbe un pericoloso riferimento per le legislazioni di tutto il mondo. Vi ricordiamo che la legge Zan contro l'omobitransfobia già approvata alla Camera e in attesa di essere discussa al Senato, introduce allo stesso modo il concetto di "identità di genere" in Italia. Si tratta dunque di una lobby mondiale che in azione coordinata lavora per la cancellazione di bambine, ragazze e donne per sostituire il sesso femminile con l'"identità di genere" nelle legislazioni nazionali e internazionali. Ecco perché questa lettera al Senato americano va sottoscritta dal maggior numero, e va sottoscritta SUBITO! Dear Senator Schumer,
We represent women all around the world and we are writing to share our concerns with the U.S. Equality Act as it is currently drafted. The Declaration on Women's Sex-Based Rights has been signed by over 15,000 individuals all over the world, approximately 2000 of whom live in the U.S. Its intent is to protect women and girls globally by ensuring that sex is maintained as a discrete category in numerous areas in the law. We encourage you to read its provisions.
Our understanding is that the current version of the U.S. Equality Act, which passed in the House of Representatives earlier this year, would redefine the word sex to include "gender identity" throughout U.S. Civil Rights Law. "Gender identity," which the Equality Act defines in a circular fashion with reference to "gender-related identity, appearance, mannerisms, or other gender-related characteristics," is, in practice, the mechanism by which individuals may claim the identity of the opposite sex. It has no basis in material reality.
Although the enactment of the Equality Act would only affect U.S. women directly, we are terrified of the impact that such enactment is likely to have globally. Our governments look to your government for leadership, expertise, and guidance. Already, we are seeing the word sex being redefined to include "gender identity" in laws throughout the U.K., the European Union, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. These laws have had devastating impacts on the lives of women and girls, including the rapes of vulnerable women in prison, the inclusion of men in women's spaces such as locker rooms and changing rooms, and the inclusion of men in women's sports. This situation will only get worse if this law passes in the U.S., and similar laws are likely to extend to other geographic areas as well.
We understand that the U.S. chapter of the Women's Human Rights Campaign (WHRC) has shared with you information about the alternative they have proposed, the Equality for All Act. This bill is in alignment with the Declaration on Women's Sex-Based Rights, and we strongly urge you to consider introducing it in the U.S. Senate.

La Dichiarazione sui diritti delle donne basati sul sesso è stata firmata da oltre 15.000 persone in tutto il mondo, circa 2000 delle quali vivono negli Stati Uniti. "Identità di genere", che l'Equality Act definisce in modo tautologico riferendosi a "identità, aspetto, comportamento o altre caratteristiche legate al genere" è in pratica il meccanismo mediante il quale gli individui possono rivendicare l'identità del sesso opposto, cosa che non trova alcuna base nella realtà materiale.
Sebbene l'emanazione dell'Equality Act riguarderebbe direttamente solo le donne statunitensi, è terrificante l'impatto che potrebbe avere a livello globale. I nostri governi guardano al governo Usa come modello di leadership, competenza e guida. Stiamo già assistendo alla ridefinizione della parola sesso per includere "identità di genere" nelle leggi di Regno Unito, Unione Europea, Australia, Canada e Nuova Zelanda. Queste leggi hanno avuto un impatto devastante sulla vita di donne e ragazze, inclusi stupri di donne vulnerabili in carcere, inclusione di uomini negli spazi femminili come spogliatoi e spogliatoi e inclusione degli uomini negli sport femminili. Questa situazione peggiorerà se la legge verrà approvata negli Stati Uniti, ed è probabile che leggi simili si estendano anche ad altre aree geografiche.
