We can't abandon them. We can't abandon ourselves

Women's freedom was writ large on the banner of the Western 'liberators' and is the very first target of the Taliban who took back Afghanistan. Let us unite to ask our governments for hospitality and humanitarian corridors for Afghan women and girls. There is no "us" and "them". We all pay the price for the deeds of foolish men.

Women's freedom was writ large on the banner of Western 'liberators' of Afghanistan. And women's freedom is now the very first target of the Taliban restoration there.

No more school, girls- the poignant farewell of the teachers to their pupils. Leave your jobs, ladies - these places are now only for men. Once again females are inmates, obliged to have a male guardian always at their side. The young virgins without husbands and the interesting widows are sacrificed to the needs of warriors, imprisoned in veils and burqas fished out of trunks.

Every sign of female freedom, even on advertising posters, is being meticulously erased in these hours by the old-new masters of the country, welcomed as liberators from the Western yoke as they advanced so quickly towards Kabul, encountering no resistance, to restore the Islamic Emirate.

We can't abandon them. We can't abandon ourselves

From the very beginning, women's bodies have been pawns, targets and playing fields for a match between men: torturers, jihadists, soldiers, 'liberators', democratic touts, businessmen, the corrupt, cowardly fugitives and traitors.

The consequences of what the media today refer to as the 'West's debacle', and the new Vietnam, are currently incalculable. But there is no need for any calculation to know what will happen to Afghan women: we are already seeing it as we have seen it over the centuries. All of our flesh bears the marks, from mother to daughter, of violence and oppression.

There is no us and them. What is happening to them - erasure and disappearance - can happen to us too. Their struggle, their resistance is also ours.

The men's game has been and continues to be a failure, and not just in Afghanistan. All are ending badly. And we women, everywhere in the world, are the first to pay the price for the deeds of foolish men.

We must unite and activate our international networks to ask the governments of our countries, with a single voice, to organise humanitarian corridors. and prepare to receive these women and girls (at the moment at Kabul airport only men are trying to escape).

If we abandon Afghan women and girls, we abandon ourselves.

We must not abandon them; we must not abandon us.

How to convince progressives to give up gender
Terrified of transactivists and worried about sounding 'right-wing', left-wingers support the transition of minors even in the absence of studies showing that 'affirmative therapy' works and promotes the well-being of gender non-conforming girls and boys. "But everyone has a right to evidence-based medicine," argue some liberals determined to "break the spell". And they start DIAG -Democrats for an Informed Approach to Gender- to convince democrats in the US and around the world that continuing on this path is wrong and dangerous. For children and for the left. An article by Bernard Lane
A new movement of US Democrats wants to find out how to break the spell of gender ideology and bring the party back to the liberal values of science and reason. Democrats for an Informed Approach to Gender (DIAG) launched a project yesterday on X Space (Twitter) to commission research on how to more effectively reach out to left-wing voters who believe that science is now in favour of 'gender-affirming' medicalisation of gender non-conforming youth. "The only way to end this [...]

UK: growing rejection of gender self-identification (self-id)
Justice agrees with the Sunak government: the Scottish law that wanted to introduce free choice of sex is not constitutional. Meanwhile, Equal Opportunities Minister Kemi Badenoch calls the pharmacologisation of 'gender non-conforming' children 'conversion therapy'. And announces a law against self-id tourism
Rishi Sunak's central British government had imposed a constitutional veto on Scotland's gender identity law. The Scottish High Court of Justice ruled in its favour, establishing the legality of blocking the reform. The Scottish proposal, put forward by National Party MP Shona Robison, aimed to eliminate the pathological categorisation of the Gender Recognition Act (GRA), introducing the concept of gender self-determination (Self ID) and allowing the change of sex on the birth certificate even for those [...]

British academics against cancel culture
On 20 November, the London Universities Council for Academic Freedom will be unveiled, a body that brings together a hundred or so professors from the major British universities with the intention of fighting against the censorship and single-mindedness that in recent years have impeded academic debate and freedom, compromising the education of thousands of students. In the crosshairs especially Lgbtq+ realities such as Stonewall that have heavily influenced university and higher education. About time, and go on!
As reported by The Telegraph, more than a hundred academics from the UK's top universities have joined forces to tackle the growing threat of cancel culture through the creation of a new body dedicated to academic freedom. In a pioneering initiative, the scholars have formed the 'London Universities Council for Academic Freedom', involving all academic institutions in the capital including University College London (UCL), King's College London, [...]

Canada: gender critical nurse risks her job
Amy Hamm works in a psychiatric ward and is under investigation for promoting women's rights based on sex and child protection online. The BCCNM, the body that regulates the nursing profession, intends to suspend her unless she participates in a re-education programme but Amy opposes this: the hearing is underway. US journalist Megyn Kelly interviewed her
Canadian nurse Amy Hamm - one of the founders of the non-profit coalition Canadian Women Sex Based Rights (caWsbar) - works in an acute psychiatric ward specialising in mental health and substance use. Amy risks losing her nursing licence and her job because she allegedly promoted women's sex-based rights and child protection online. In recent years, Amy has been the subject of an investigation by the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives [...]

AUDI TO BE OPENED TO MALES: EMILIA REGION GRANTS (!) AN EXTENSION
At the urgent request of PPOO Minister Eugenia Roccella, the deadline set for the UDI to adapt its statute to allow men to join as well slips by 180 days. In the meantime, the powerful Schlienian Igor Taruffi, transfeminist councillor for Welfare and head of organisation of the national PD, will have to explain which passage of the circular on the reform of the Third Sector justifies his attack on female separatism
At the insistent request of PPOO Minister Eugenia Roccella, the Emilia Romagna region has granted an extension of 180 days to the UDI associations of Modena, Ferrara and Ravenna to adapt their statutes to allow men to register (we have told you about this here), statutes that UDI Bologna has in fact already modified for some time (2020) The deadline for modifying its statutes, under penalty of being expelled from the register of Third Sector Associations (RUNTS), has therefore been extended from [...].

Only women? Can no longer be
In 10 days' time -on 21 October- the UDI Emilia Romagna could be deleted from the Third Sector register unless it agrees to register men as well. This is how the left attacks women's political spaces - starting with the historical association linked to the Resistance - in the name of the trans-feminist 'inclusiveness' promoted by the PD. A huge risk for all feminism. They cannot win
Women's spaces under attack. Not only the physical ones - changing rooms, sports, shelter homes, hospital wards, prisons - but also the symbolic and political ones. If you don't admit men, close down and disappear. Incredible and exemplary is what is happening to UDI, Unione Donne in Italia, an association that has been active for almost 80 years historically linked to the left. Many of the UDIs in Emilia-Romagna are at risk of imminent cancellation from RUNTS, the single national register of the Third Sector, simply for the fact [...]
