Mothers should not be left alone

While waiting for the details of the terrible figlicide in Mascalucia to be defined, one thing applies to all: motherhood cannot be experienced in solitude. In the absence of that 'village' that serves to raise every creature that comes into the world, places for new mothers to meet and freely share experiences and experiences are needed. To maximise joy and give course to feminine and maternal wisdom, the foundation of civilisation

The picture of the Mascalucia figlicide is still not entirely clearWhether the crime was premeditated (the last embrace between mother and daughter on leaving kindergarten was heartbreaking), whether the girl was of sound mind, whether she acted alone, and so on. The investigators will do their work, the court will establish responsibility and punishment, although no punishment can be greater than the one the mother inflicted on herself with her terrible act.

But one thing applies to all mothers in the world, also for the one in Mascalucia: mothers cannot be left alone. This is a completely unnatural condition and potentially risky even from a psychological point of view for the creature and the woman who gave birth to it. To raise a child you need a villageand this village (the family, the community, neighbourly relations, sharing with other mothers) is aincreasingly rare experience. The need is even more acute if there is no father at the mother's side, but even a father is not enough to substitute that complex relational fabric that gives birth to the mother in a kind of social gestation, and who accompanies and supports her in her most precious task of initiating a creature into life.

Le diminishing families, increasingly disjointed communities, increasingly rarefied relationships -and maternity hindered across the board, perhaps as never before in history- point to an urgent and unascertainable needthat of offer mothers opportunities to meet, to share, to pool their experiences.

Let's call them by an ugly name: maternity homes -there must surely be a better one-. freely accessible, with little or no institutionalisation, equipped with the minimum facilities necessary to make them cosy and comfortable, basically 'self-managed' even if linked to possible aid services -when needed- and possibly also attended by doule experts in supporting mothers of toddlers. Places of relationship and exchange, not of technicalisation, medicalisation and psychologisation of the maternal function (and indeed preserved from the clamour of technical words), where mothers freely share and circulate their knowledge, and not feel like apprentices in a 'trade' regulated by others.

Places where feminine energy and words circulate in abundance, drawing as much joy and pleasure from it as possibleand in which making friends with others is not only a function of the child. In which, above all, civilisation is founded.

We need places like this in every country and in every district of the big cities: will any mayor or mayor listen?

Italian Society of Paediatrics: stopping puberty in dysphoric children does not cause permanent problems. But several studies prove otherwise
UK, Sweden, Finland, USA: much of the world is up in arms against puberty blockers that can irreversibly damage the health of girls and boys. The Tavistock clinic in London is closing down, a thousand families are preparing for a class action in defence of their daughters and sons who have not been properly treated, many American paediatricians are attacking their trade association which is pushing for the administration of these drugs. But for the Italian paediatricians' society these problems do not exist
According to the Italian Society of Paediatrics, the effects of puberty blockers used to treat girls and boys with gender dysphoria are perfectly REVERSIBLE: this means that if the girl/boy changes her mind about her intention to 'change sex' and suspends the 'therapy', her development will resume normally, without any definitive effects and/or health problems. This is not the case at all. The effects of puberty blocker therapy are by no means 'completely reversible', as has been demonstrated by several [...]

Worker yes. Minister no. Woman neither
If there is one thing Italian politicians all agree on, it is the erasure of women, starting with language. While the 'progressive' left erases us with asterisks and schwa -fake-inclusive language that returns everything to the masculine- the right refuses to use the feminine for women of authority in institutions. But words are important because they make reality
Incredibly -and with a secret vote, wickedly conceded by President Casellati- a few days ago, the Senate rejected the Maiorino amendment authorising women in the institutions to be called by their names. This issue has profound political relevance. Many poets over the centuries have made use of poetic licences, i.e. intentional grammatical, metrical and syntactic errors with the intention of emphasising a concept or altering the sonority of the composition. On 27 July 2022 at Palazzo Madama is [...]

Women attacked from left and right: the ash on the head of the New York Times
As the organ of the liberals and woke culture, the great US newspaper has been undertaking a vigorous change of course for a few months now, admitting its own excesses and the misogyny of the new progressive course committed to wiping out women. While waiting for the self-critical wind to blow in Europe too
by Pamela Paul Perhaps it makes sense that women - complacent and pleasant-looking creatures, selfless and just as pretty - were the ones who finally brought our polarised country together. Because the far right and the far left have found the one thing they can agree on: women don't matter. The position of the right is best known, the movement has been aggressively dedicated for decades to depriving women of basic rights. Thanks also to two judges [...]

School ends, forced withdrawals of children begin again
Despite a recent ruling by the Supreme Court of Cassation defining the forced removal of minors as 'outside the rule of law', this morning in the province of Lodi an 11-year-old boy was snatched from his mother, who was forcibly and deceptively detained while her son was taken. Here is how the events unfolded in the account of a witness
This morning in the province of Lodi, in Casalmaiocco, an 11-year-old boy, Gioele, was forcibly snatched and suddenly and traumatically removed from the mother with whom he was living. Here are the facts as told by a MaternaMente activist present at the time: 'Deborah and her son had been summoned for a meeting by the social services this morning. The meeting took place online and the SS used reassuring tones. The mother then went to the municipality to [...].

New England Journal of Medicine: abortion ban is a health catastrophe
The prestigious magazine raises the alarm: it will be mainly poor and black women who will pay the price of the Supreme Court ruling, driven back into abortion with serious health risks. Even the morning-after pill and even the IUD could be banned and prosecuted as abortifacient means
The US Supreme Court's decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization represents an extraordinary reversal (...) Yet it was not unexpected. In the long and painful prelude to the decision, many states severely restricted access to reproductive health care. The fig leaf covering these restrictions was that induced abortion was a dangerous procedure that required stricter regulation to protect the health of women seeking such care. The facts belie this false rhetoric. The latest data available in the United States [...]

How they won the war against Roe
Failure to turn Roe v. Wade into law was the capital mistake of the American left, starting with Barack Obama. Abortion was an entirely secondary issue for trans-politics-absorbed liberals, who have spent years erasing the word 'woman' by renaming it as 'menstruator' and 'uterus carrier', rather than addressing women's rights
How did American pro-lifers win the war against Roe v. Wade? In the article of which we present you with extended excerpts, journalist Sarah Ditum explains how the Democrats' neglect and arrogance unwittingly helped set women's rights in America back 50 years. "When did it become certain that American women's right to abortion would be revoked? The Supreme Court's ruling that "Roe was terribly wrong from the start" leaked almost two months ago, [...]
