The US Department of Justice released a document endorsing the 'affirmative' approach to transitioning children, which involves immediately prescribing puberty-blocking drugs and hormones to girls and boys who say they are uncomfortable with their gender, skipping the psychological assessment so as not to delay medicalisation in any way.
