WPATH is under attack. In the USA, the FTC, Federal Trade Commission, an independent agency of the federal government that protects consumers, supported by four states, Texas, Nebraska, Iowa, Alaska have sued the international organization which has been publishing SOC (standard of care) guidelines for gender-affirming care for many years.
The indictment alleges that WPATH made false or unsupported claims about the treatment of minors, deceiving parents and child patients to further its members' profits. It presented puberty blockers as completely reversible, cross-sex hormone treatments, and mastectomies as necessary and lifesaving without solid evidence, failed to disclose the risks associated with the treatments, and removed age limits for hormone treatments and surgeries (except phalloplasty) without scientific basis but solely due to ideological pressure. The FTC also cites comments from parents and doctors who say they trusted the guidelines as evidence of consumer deception.

The lawsuit was filed in the Northern District of Texas and, if successful, could prevent the organization from promoting its guidelines, with far-reaching consequences for the entire gender-based healthcare industry. WPATH called the lawsuit a political vendetta by the Trump administration and an attack on free speech.
We are at the beginning but second Leor Sapir of the Manhattan Institute who wrote about it Unherd, could be the end of WPATH because it attacks its business model. Many hospitals, clinics, and insurance companies actually rely on its guidelines.
