As we have already told you, Pioneering' Sweden - along with many other Western countries - has decided to put a sudden stop to hormone treatments for girls and boys with gender dysphoria. It is now Sweden's largest centre for these treatments, theKarolisnka Hospital, at admit to damaging the health of at least a dozen minors with puberty blockers. How long will we have to wait for the Italian Parliament to deal with this issue, saving the lives of 'gender non-conforming' girls and boys who are sent to these ruinous 'therapies'?
Sweden's Karolinska Hospital, which specialises in children's transitions, self-reported that it had damaged the health of 'Leo', a girl suffering from gender dysphoria, with its puberty-blocking hormone treatments.
Leo was only eleven years old when she was given puberty blockers. A little more than four years after starting the treatment, it was discovered that the girl had developed osteoporosis and vertebral changes and suffered from back and hip pain. At least twelve other children were harmed by hormone treatments prescribed by the Karolinska University Hospital and reported serious side effects.
Today Karolinska admits that Leo and the other children were exposed to the risk of 'serious injury and that there is a real risk of incorrect treatments. In its report, the hospital states that it did not routinely check Leo's bone density and that the family "had not received sufficient information and clear about known side effects of the treatment'.
It is also accepted that there are no sufficient studies to demonstrate whether hormone treatment is useful and safe for minors. Furthermore, the hospital writes, "it is clear that thehe diagnosis of gender dysphoria is not static'. and it happens that patients do not want to continue with transitional medication after receiving puberty blockers.
In the hospital's investigation, it is alleged that 'Leo' should never have undergone puberty blockade because account had to be taken of her psychological problems, her suicide attempts and the hesitations she herself had expressedfactors that have been ignored.
