The Canadian nurse Amy Hamm - one of the founders of the non-profit coalition Canadian Women Sex Based Rights (caWsbar) - works in an acute psychiatric ward specialising in mental health and substance use.
Amy risks losing her nursing licence and her job because she allegedly promoted women's rights based on sex and child protection online. In recent years, Amy has been the subject of asurvey by the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
BCCNM asked her to sign a consent that included the temporary suspension from the workplace, admission of making transphobic statements and voluntary participation in a re-education programme. Amy refused, claiming that her views were political in nature and unrelated to her work. Amy is just one of many gender critical feminists whose survival is threatened by transactivists.
The dispute has been ongoing for almost three years now and although Amy is still working as a nurse she is still under investigation and risks losing her job every day.
Amy, a single mother of two children aged three and six, is represented by the The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms.
The hearing, which is still ongoing, can be viewed online here.
Megyn Kelly, American journalist and host of 'The Megyn Kelly Show', interviewed Amy.
